Vince Matthew Chung along with his fellow team member Sam Wu became the 1st ever winners of the The Amazing Race Asia from Hong Kong in November 2008. Despite starting the final week with a 4 hour penalty they were able to fight back from last place to claim a monumental victory in Phuket

The fact that Vince & Sam were originally a standby team and had been confirmed as contestants for The Race at the very last minute (they were given only 4 hours to take unpaid leave from their jobs, bid farewell to their families and get to the airport without letting anyone know where they were going) made this a first in the history of the popular television / reality show.

Early life

Vince Matthew Chung was born in Toronto, Canada the son of an accountant and a university lecturer and spent his early life there. He attended public school number 207 and his favorite subject was gym. At middle school he represented Ontario internationally in swimming competitions, specialising in breast-stroke and also held several provincial records when he was younger.  at York University and Education at University of Toronto. In 2003 in a move to rediscover his roots, he relocated to Hong Kong, where he started out with a career in education, but after a short time his love for the theatre and acting drove him to follow these pursuits professionally.
