The geographical area of Vikaspuri was mostly agricultural land, parts of villages called Budhella, Keshopur and Hasthsal. These villages continue to exist right amid the suburb.

Description /Entertainment

Vikaspuri is known for its suburban residential living ,AEZ Square which houses PVR Vikaspuri, one of Delhi's finest cinemas. There are a number of restaurants in the complex including McDonalds and Domino's.There are many smaller markets that are connected to each bloack of the larger town that also provide for a wonderful shopping experience.VikasPuri is approximately 3kms from the Westend Mall in Neighboring JanakPuri which adds to shopping and eating experience.Shop at Delhi Haat at the Westend Mall for handicrafts made by local artisans.
Overall a very lively town, though there is a lack of a good library but it is one of the highly connected townships of Delhi.

Getting there

The nearest Metro Station is Janakpuri (West) and Uttam Nagar (East).The Blue Line of the Metro which starts from Dwarka, connects Vikaspuri to Connaught Place and Pragati Maidan. The line is being extended to the Airport via Dwarka.
