VTrans' 2006 Route Log lists the official length of VT 5A to be 19.498 miles (31.4 km), with the last milepost reading at VT 105 in Charleston

History

Prior to the U.S. Highway system, the route was designated as New England Interstate Route 2A (NE-2A), part of the New England Interstate Route system that existed between 1922 and 1927. VT 5A now runs over the entirety of NE-2A.
