  • tests of methods and algorithms for attitude determination,
  • optimisation of internet protocol parameters, in order to adapt to the specific space environment.


On 23.9.2009 UWE-2 was launched by an Indian PSLV rocket (PSLV-C14) together with Oceansat-2

 and three further CubeSats in a polar orbit at 730 km altitude. Successful operations could be initiated.

UWE-2 followed the earlier UWE-1

UWE-1 is a CubeSat built by students of the University of Würzburg and was launched as part of the SSETI Express mission from Plesetsk in Russia. Down/Uplink frequency is 437.505 MHz, modulation is 9600 Baud AFSK. The satellite's radio call sign is DPØUWE....

. UWE-3 is also planned.
