History

U.S. Corrugated’s legacy began in 1966 when Dennis Mehiel, the company’s founder and chairman, formed a partitions manufacturing business called Four M Manufacturing. Four M acquired their first full line box plant in 1985 in Newark, New Jersey

 and later in 1993 acquired Mannkraft Corporation which manufactured industrial packaging and Point of Purchase displays

In 1995, following the acquisition of the packaging division of St. Joe Corporation, it became the country’s largest independent corrugated manufacturer. It was renamed Box USA that same year. Box USA was eventually sold in 2004.

U.S. Corrugated Inc was established in 2006 when Mr. Mehiel, having retained the Mannkraft operations, decided to start a new packaging venture. The initial acquisition was of the corrugated packaging division of Linpac

Awards

U.S. Display Group has won numerous awards for the design of their P.O.P displays. It has been named as one of the top 50 P.O.P companies for the past 7 years by Creative magazine. They were also named the Supplier of the Year in 2008 for Saatchi and Saatchi X. Together with U.S. Display Group, U.S. Corrugated Inc has more than 20 design patents for innovative structural design.

In July 2009, U.S. Corrugated became SFI

. utilizing a closed-mill concept, the mill does not discharge any water, does not lose any heat, sells pelletized rejects, and uses only recycled furnish. They also receive old and used corrugated containers and sort it for further usage.

In April 2011, U.S. Corrugated installed solar panels in several of their Northeast packaging plants in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
