. Careful readers will note that the elevation on the sign is slightly less than the advertised elevation. The discrepancy is accounted for in the fact the 2697 elevation reported is on an older alignment of the highway just slightly to the west of the current alignment, and is the elevation and benchmark shown on the USGS Topo maps.
