Internal Selection

Like in the past years, the Turkish broadcaster TRT will hold an internal selection. Although, the website eurovisiondream.com, run by Turkish Eurovision fans, have launched an online petition to persuade TRT to hold a national final instead of the internal selection used since 2005. They aim to reach 10,000 signatures in two weeks.

), who will then present three songs to the selection committee which will make the final choice. The performer was announced at the last day of 2010.

At Eurovision

Turkey competed in the first semi-final on May 10 2011 but did not qualify for the final. This is the first time that Turkey did not make it to the final since the semi-final system was introduced in 2004. It was the first year that Turkey wasn't present in a Eurovision final since 1994, when they had been relegated due to a poor result in 1993.
