This caused uneasiness among Malays (Raja Mendeliar and Laksamana Khoja Hassan), they accused Mutahir of conspiring a plot to overthrow Sultan Mahmud. The sultan immediately ordered the execution of Mutahir's family with the exception of Tun Fatimah
