. The current principal is Keith Lavoie, taking over after Linda Murdock took a position at Neary Elementary school. The formal name is P. Brent Trottier Middle School. It is named after former Southborough educator P. Brent Trottier.

The school, encompassing grades 6 through 8, is a part of the Southborough public school system. The students normally graduate to Algonquin Regional High School

. The school is ranked as one of the best public school systems in the state. This school also participated in NAEP testing in 2007 and 2009 and the scores have been added to the ranking of the nation's schools.

Trottier's office staff consists of Keith Lavoie as the principle, Gary Hreschuck as assistant principle, and Darlene Scorzelli as secretaries.

Athletics

Trottier has a couple choices of intramural sports from field hockey to basketball or track and cross country.they are very good and almost always qaulify for state championships for basketball

After-school Programs

In addition to a number of intramural activities, the school offers a wide variety of clubs and after-school activities that students may participate in. These after-school programs are financed by the Southborough Department of recreation, the SOS program (currently led by Virginia Sweeter), and the school's own budget. The programs are led by teachers that offer to take part in the activities after a student requests either the formation of an activity, or the "rebirth" of a program that is currently inactive. The after-school programs range from enhancing a student's skill in academics, all the way to learning how to be the school mascot (the Trottier Ram). Some of the programs have proved to be extremely successful. The cheerleading program was embraced by many teenage girls throughout the school, and through hard work and astonishing dedication, the program managed o land itself a spot in a national competition. Additionally, the trottier math team propelled itself to state competitions.

Drama and music

There is a drama program at the school. The program puts on a winter play and a spring musical every year. The dress rehearsal for the musical is performed for the fifth graders from Margaret Neary School
