The first sets were introduced in 1974, with a total of 34 10-car sets built up until 1989.
  • In 1974, 19 5-car sets built.
  • In 1980, 1 5-car sets built.
  • In 1983, 6 10-car sets built and all sets converted to 10 cars.
    • Side windows changed to single-pane type (earlier cars had 2-pane windows).
    • Prepared for air conditioning.

  • In 1988, 5 10-car sets built.
    • Air-conditioning installed.
  • In 1989, 2 10-car sets built.
  • In 1989 to 1994, air-conditioning added to non-air-conditioned cars.
  • In 2006 or 2007, some cars of 7127 and other sets were scrapped.

Refurbishment

Type of refurbishment are C-refurbish (small scale) and B-refurbish (big scale). All of 2 step window cars () were executed B-refurbish and changed to 1 step window. Some sets of there refurbished middle additional cars () also refurbished and some sets are not. Middle additional cars of 7117 and 7120 are not completely refurbished.

Control system of sets 7101 to 7120 is updated. Many sets changed to IGBT-VVVF system. Number of motored cars reduced from 6 to 5 in some sets.
  • 7108 7111 7117: Use remained chopper system which were gathered by converting VVVF (from middle additional cars ()).

Resale

10-car set 7117 was sold to Indonesia in March 2010, followed by sets 7121, 7122, and 7123 in April.
