Performing arts and other facilities

  • Fred Kavli Theatre for the Performing Arts

The Kavli Theatre is 99000 sq ft (9,197.4 m²) and seats 1,800 in four tiers and side boxes. It is mainly used for performing arts. Its flooring is Italian granite with walls in Ipir wood paneling. The distance from the front lip of the stage to the last row of the balcony is 118 feet—just 28 feet (8.5 m) more than the distance between home plate and first base in a major league ballpark.
  • Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre.

The Scherr Forum Theatre is a dual purpose facility with several different seating configurations and is 22000 sq ft (2,043.9 m²). Seating capacity ranges from 278 for City Council meetings and up to 394 for theatrical productions - 120 seats can be lowered to the basement at the flip of a switch.

  • Anthony J. Tesoro Courtyard of the Oaks

The Anthony J. Tesoro Courtyard of the Oaks is the main courtyard in the front of the Civic Arts Plaza. The courtyard includes the Josepine & Joseph Tesoro and Agnes & Gene Fox outdoor stage. The floor of the courtyard is made from bricks that for a small donation can be inscribed with an individuals name or the name of a loved one. The courtyard also includes a time capsule that is filled with time related articles every 25 years by the fifth graders in town. It will be opened in the year 2064 on the one hundredth anniversary of Thousand Oaks cityhood.
  • Public Open Area Space. The complex's open space areas include a 3 acres (1.2 ha) park and 10000 sq ft (929 m²). of outdoor plazas.

  • Six level parking garage with a capacity of 666 vehicles plus an additional 37 outdoor parking spaces
