Thomas Somerset, 1st Viscount Somerset (died 1651) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons
between 1601 and 1611. He was raised to the Peerage of Ireland in 1626.
Somerset was the third son of William Somerset, 3rd Earl of Worcester

In 1601, Somerset was elected Member of Parliament
for Monmouthshire
. He became a member of Gray's Inn
on 7 August 1604. In 1604 he was re-elected MP for Monmouthshire and sat until 1611. He was knighted as Knight of Bath
on 5 January 1605. In December 1626 he was raised to Peerage of Ireland as Viscount Somerset of Cashel.
Somerset died in 1651 and the title became extinct.
Somerset married Eleanor de Barry daughter of David Viscount Buttevant.
