Al Ruwaya

The Tiger Woods Dubai course ("Al Ruwaya") was slated to open in September 2009. The golf course will be known as Al Ruwaya Golf Course. In June 2009, officials said that only three holes had been completed. In December 2009, the course was still not open, and a spokeswoman for the project was unable to say exactly how much of the course was complete.

The golf course which will be managed under a ten year contract by IMG Golf Course Management. The course will be a 7,800 yard, par 72 design.It will require 4,000,000 gallons of water every day.

According to Dubai Properties Group Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al Malik "Work on the course, designed by Woods and originally due to be finished by September 2009, has gotten as far as the eighth hole". (Feb 2010) On January 31, 2011, the golf course developer acknowledged the project has been shelved because of "market conditions." "It's been put on hold," Woods told the Associated Press on Sunday.
