The Divas of Doom

The Divas of Doom is a professional wrestling
villainous
tag team
consisting of Beth Phoenix
and Natalya, both working for WWE with Phoenix assigned to the Raw
brand
, and Natalya assigned to the SmackDown brand
, but both appear on either show due to Phoenix being the current WWE Divas Champion
.
They first began teaming together when Natalya was Divas Champion
and was feuding with LayCool
in late September 2010. Their careers diverged again after the end of this feud, until both women turned heel in early August of 2011, developing the character of anti-divas violently opposed to the acceptance of "cute"/"perky"/"Barbie
doll" divas in the company. Their slogan of "Pin-Up Strong" is also the name of Natalya's new submission maneuver used to torture the divas during this gimmick.
, Natalya set her sights on LayCool
(Michelle McCool
and Layla
) and the Divas Championship. After coming up short twice due to LayCool's machinations, Natalya finally defeated the duo in a handicap match for the Divas Championship at Survivor Series
on November 21. She was attacked after the match by LayCool, but Beth Phoenix, returning from an injury she'd suffered in May which was credited to LayCool, made the save and then congratulated Natalya. From there, the two formed an alliance against LayCool, and at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs
pay-per-view in December, Phoenix and Natalya defeated Lay-Cool in the first Divas tag team tables match in WWE history.
The alliance quietly ended a month later when Natayla lost the Divas Championship to Eve Torres
at the 2011 Royal Rumble
and went back to competing exclusively on the Raw brand.

after she attacked Kelly stating that "the days of [her] being the perky blonde bimbo champion are officially over." That same week on the August 5 edition of Smackdown, Natalya faced her recent protégé AJ in singles competition in a winning effort, and afterward also turned heel
brutally attacking AJ and tells Phoenix that "I'm with you sister. The days of the cute perky little princesses are over." Beth Phoenix and Natalya officially debuted together as "The Divas of Doom" on the August 12 edition of Smackdown defeating the Chick Busters (AJ and Kaitlyn), who they continued to assault after the match, with Phoenix throwing AJ out of the ring while Natalya applied the sharpshooter
on Kaitlyn and both laughed at her screams.
Natalya then accompanied Phoenix to her title match at the August 14 SummerSlam
pay-per-view against Kelly Kelly who was accompanied by Eve Torres
, but Phoenix failed to retrieve the title from Kelly after a Glam Slam reversal by Kelly. The Divas of Doom then returned to the August 30 edition of the Super Smackdown Special defeating the team of Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox after Phoenix applied the Glam Slam to Fox. On the September 5 edition of Raw, Phoenix defeated Eve Torres
to earn another title shot at Night of Champions
against Kelly Kelly, who went to check on a beaten Eve and then was attacked by Natalya. Phoenix then faced Kelly Kelly in her hometown of Buffalo, New York
in another loss to Kelly. On the September 19 edition of Raw, The Divas of Doom suffered a loss to Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres
after Eve pinned Natalya. The Divas of Doom then defeated The Chickbusters
on the September 23 edition of Smackdown. On the September 26 edition of Raw, the Divas of Doom defeated Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres
in a diva tag team match after Phoenix pinned Kelly to earn another title shot at the Hell in a Cell
pay-per-view, the following smackdown Kelly defeated Natalya but was then attacked by Beth before being mocked and put in Pin-Up-Strong by Natalya. At Hell in a Cell Beth went on to defeat Kelly with the help of Natalya hitting Kelly with a microphone to win her first WWE Divas Championship
. The next night on the October 3 edition of Raw, the Divas of Doom faced Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres
ending in a no contest after Kelly attacked Phoenix. Phoenix then defeated Alicia Fox in a non-title match on the October 7 edition of Smackdown, and Fox was then put in a Pin-Up-Strong by Natalya. The next week on the October 14 edition of Smackdown, Phoenix had her first title defense against Kelly Kelly in a winning effort after a Glam Slam.
On the October 17 edition of Raw, Natalya was accompanied by Phoenix who was on commentary in a match against Eve Torres
who was accompanied by Kelly Kelly in a losing effort, and it was announced that Phoenix would defend her divas title against Eve at Vengeance
. The same week on Smackdown, the Divas of Doom held a segment with Eve Torres
, in which it ended with Eve embarrassing and shoving Phoenix down and escaping the ring. At the Vengeance
event, Phoenix successfully defended her title against Eve. The next night, Phoenix was on commentary supporting Natalya in a match against Alicia Fox in a losing effort, and ended with the Divas of Doom trying to attack her, but Fox escaped. Phoenix was again on commentary on the October 31 Halloween
edition of Raw observing a diva battle royal to determine the #1 contender to face Phoenix at Survivor Series
, which Eve Torres
won by last eliminating Natalya. Just as the Divas of Doom were about to attack Eve, Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox joined Eve and ended the segment with the Divas of Doom walking away. On the November 14 edition of Raw, Phoenix accompanied Natalya in a loss to Kelly Kelly in singles competition. That same week on the November 18 edition of Smackdown, the Divas of Doom picked up a victory in a divas tag team match defeating the Chickbusters.
