bestseller "The Mexican Mafia". Because of the extensive prosecutions, the Avenues gang has been dismantled and dispersed in parts of L.A. Many gang members have relocated to San Bernardino and Riverside counties - and other areas of Los Angeles County - due to the gang injunctions from the LAPD. Increased housing and rental prices in many east side neighborhoods have meant that former gang members have moved as rentals and home prices became too expensive.

2009 raid

Following the arrest of 33 suspected members, on September 22, 2009 1,200 armed police and federal agents launched raids across Los Angeles in an attempt to bring new federal charges against an additional 88 members or associates, a significant percentage of the gang.
