History

The stadium has hosted 5 Ireland under 21 games. and other international underage games. It hosts approximately 80 games over the course of each year, with between 25 to 30 of these fixtures affiliated to Galway United

. The majority of the remaining games are junior soccer fixtures. As Fahy's Field does not meet League of Ireland standards, Mervue United now play home games in Terryland.

In both the 2007 and 2008 seasons, Terryland Park was voted as the best surface in the League of Ireland

Terryland Park underwent redevelopment in 1993 and as a result Galway United played in Galway Sportsgrounds

's Crowley Park for one season.

The stadium was to undergo further redevelopment in 2007 after a €500,000 grant was received from the Irish Government in 2006. The money went towards development works, chief of which was the building of a new 1,500-seater stand. The new stand in Terryland Park was opened in July 2007 and raised Terryland Park's seated capacity to 3,300 and overall capacity 5,000 http://www.galwayunitedfc.ie/terryland-park. Work continues and it is planned that the new stand will include a shop unit, turnstile

In July 2007 a new camera platform was added to the existing stand and the flood lights were relocated. All seating in the previous existing stand was replaced at the same time.
