Tees Valley Mohawks are arguably the most famous club in Tees Valley, having won numerous trophies from 1999 to 2004: The 1999/00, 2001/02 and 2002/03 EBL Div 1 Titles, 2002-2004 Playoff Winners, 1999-2003 National Trophy Winners, and most recently, the 2008 Patrons Cup. The club gained recognition for fast attractive basketball and signing the best the country had to offer. With the signing of a new coach, new players and backroom staff the club are looking to bring the glory days back to Tees Valley Basketball Club.

Venue

The £6.5 million centre for sport, the Olympia Building, is equipped with the latest in sport and exercise labs, including a biomechanics lab and a physiology research lab with environmental chamber. A large, multipurpose sports hall, artificial turf pitch and squash courts add extra dimensions to the Olympia Building's facilities. The dedicated Sport and Exercise Therapy Centre includes a sports injury clinic and rehabilitation equipment, situated minutes away from the sports hall.

Youth Development

The Tees Valley Mohawks are very active when it comes to youth development. The Tees Valley Mohawks have an action plan to establsh number of development teams including:
  • Tees Valley Mohawks Division 4 Reserve and development team for the Mohawks playing in the regional Division 4 League.

  • Tees Valley Mohawks U18

  • Tees Valley Mohawks U16 Junior development teams playing at National League level in their respective age categories.

  • Tees Valley Mohawks U17 Junior development team playing in the Teesside U17 League

  • Tees Valley Mohawks Vixens Ladies and female development team to play in the Durham Ladies League.

  • The Tees Valley Mohawks also run an International Basketball Academy at Ormesby School, Middlesbrough that runs for four hours every Sunday attracting participants of every origin from all over the country.
