Founding

Techtree was started by ITNation India Pvt. Ltd., founded by Pavan Sood and Rizwan Thakur. In mid-2008, ITNation was bought over by the UTV group.
Techtree was purchased by Trivone Digital Services, a Bangalore-based startup, in April 2011.

TV Show

After the UTV group acquisition of the parent company, a companion show, also called Techtree, has been produced for UTVi (now Bloomberg UTV). The show originally aired on Thursdays at 10:30pm IST.

In September 2009, the show went on a season break. Soon after that, ex-Techtree and ex-Tech 2.0 writer Aalaap Ghag joined Bloomberg UTV (formerly UTVi) as Assistant Editor - Technology and was responsible for the content on the show. This was Aalaap's third stint associated with Techtree. Aalaap moved on from Techtree on the 4th of February, 2011.

The new, 'reboot' of Techtree commenced on 28 November 2009. Aalaap Ghag anchored the new Techtree from episode 1 to 15 and then appeared on the show as the tech expert from episodes 16 thru 62, with Shweta Mulki as producer and Elan Dutta as the anchor.

Post episode 62, the Techtree show team consists of producer Shweta Mulki, asst. producer Janvi Morzaria, with Anant Dwivedi supervising the production & content, and Radhika Bajaj anchoring the show.
