the monopoly of the old Tai Po Market (大埔墟) formed by the Tang Clan

However, in present time, the name Tai Wo mostly refers to the area surrounding the Tai Wo Station of East Rail and the Tai Wo Estate. Fu Shin Street is being considered as a part of the old Tai Po Market.
