Programming

Sport Extra had originally launched to show the V8 Supercars Series live. TVNZ however lost the rights to this at the end of the 2007 season to TV3.

The transmission of TVNZ Sport Extra will be reinstated in conjunction with major sporting events which will be covered by TVNZ in the future. Subsequently, Freeview viewers will be advised in advance of TVNZ Sport Extra becoming operational again.
