 acronym meaning "Things Falling Off Aircraft"; occasionally pronounced as "toe-fa", similar to "tofu".

Despite its somewhat humorous name, TFOA is a serious condition requiring the submission of a category 1 hazardous material report within twenty-four hours of the incident to the cognizant field authority (CFA) and type commander (TYCOM).

had an episode in its first season, "The Curse", which revolved around a Navy Lieutenant being mummified inside of a 370 gallon cargo container for an F-14 Tomcat, which was filed 8 years before as a TFOA.
