in their backyard. Early in his boxing career, Syd spent time training with his older brother Fitz “The Whip” Vanderpool, a exceptional, ground-breaking boxer who won 5 belts in all (holding 3 at one time), one of those a world championship title. Syd’s professional statistics as a boxer stand at 35 wins (23 KO’s) and 4 losses. It is through boxing that Syd has learned many valuable lessons that he applies to his life outside the ring. According to Syd, success is not about how great of a boxer one can be, but rather measured by the quality of meaningful relationships acquired while working toward a goal. Syd applies this relational attitude to all aspects of his life, including the Vanderpool Athletic Training Systems at Game Day Fitness in Kitchener, Ontario.
