Having experienced untouchability himself at his young age, Valasai formed the Scheduled Caste Federation of Pakistan (SCFP) to raise the issue of human inequality, untouchability and caste discrimination. Under the SCFP platform, he wrote hundreds of petitions and letters to the President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of Pakistan drawing their attention to the plight of Scheduled Castes tribes and particularly the Meghwal

Family

Surendar has three brothers Mohan Lal, Vashdev and Gordhan Das. He has two sons and two daughters. His sons are Inderjeet and Jarnail. Mr Valasai has four nephew named Avinash Mohan, Gul Mohan, Ameer Mohan and Jagveer Dev.
