The club plays at Monument Park near the university's golf centre. Their pitch has the same dimensions as Scotland's Murrayfield Stadium

Since 2000, SURFC http://www.surfc.net has won the Scottish Championships 3 times.

They currently compete in Caledonia Midland League 1 http://www.scottishrugby.org/hdn/new-fixtures.cfm?competitionuuid=5F1E6221-0C8B-468C-354B-9529D21E8659&tournamentuuid=36988FAD-98F5-3C7B-5703-0852C0640530 on a Saturday and BUSA Scottish 1A http://www.busa.org.uk/fl/compall.asp?DivisionID=6260 on a Wednesday.

The club also runs a 2nd XV team which competes also on Saturdays and Wednesdays. This team has provided an efficient backup for the club's 1st XV in recent years.

Events

  • SURFC 7s Held every year on the 1st Wednesday of May. Open to any team wishing to compete.

  • Old Boys Weekend Usually on May Bank Holiday Weekend. Starts on Friday and finishes Sunday. Includes a meal, match, beer, bowling and Sports Union Final Fling.

Recent tours

SURFC spent 10 days in the Eastern European countries of Latvia and Lithuania in June 2007. There was general merryment and consistent celebrations for the duration. Results were positive also, a narrow defeat against the Lithuanians Champions Yorgezex came before a 45-0 victory against the Latvian side "The Butchers". After this result there was more rejoicing.
2009 saw stirling tour to the south of portugal where they competed in a mini tournament winning all their matches. This tour was also infamous for being "loose"
2011 saw a return for the university to Eastern Europe once again playing "the butchers" Meisneiki with a similar result, winning 40 - 7 and consuming many beverages. "Oh yeah, the drinks, sure!" (Jacob Harper; 2011)
