Purdy has represented the United States at various levels, Under-18, Under-20 and Under-23. In 2004 he helped the United States Under-20s to a third-place finish in the Busan (Korea) Four-Nations International Tournament. During the 2007 season he was called to his first senior U.S. National Team camp for a match against Switzerland on Oct. 17 and was available for selection but did not appear in the match.
