In 1972 he won the bronze medal with the Romanian team. He played one match.

Four years later he won the silver medal as part of the Romanian team. He played all five matches and scored 32 goals.

In 1980 he was a member of the Romanian handball team, which won the bronze medal. He played all six matches and scored 23 goals.
