 alumni Scott Hochstadt in 2001. The foundation's original purpose was to bring the sport of lacrosse from the traditional hotbeds on the East Coast, to untapped areas on the West Coast. Hochstadt has elevated the sport to new levels, where it is now featured in mainstream TV and film under the guidance of the Starz offshoot Legend Unlimited. Fellow Maryland alumnus Xander Ritz joined Starz and Legend Unlimited in 2007, to help manage growth and operations of the Foundation.
Starz is an elite program created to provide additional instruction and competition to select players. Designed to compliment local middle and high school programs, Starz takes the best players, male and female, and provides the opportunity to compete at the elite level with some of the best coaches in the sport today. Starz looks for players who have a passion for the game, want to compete at a higher level, and/or have thoughts of continuing their lacrosse careers beyond high school.

Starz Philosophy

The Starz philosophy is to provide an enhanced level of coaching, instruction, education and competition to players with a true passion for the game. The coaching staff consists of paid coaches with top level playing experience and the same passion for the game that is sought in the players. The common passion is a starting point and is used as the catalyst to develop a family atmosphere with the hope of fostering friendships that can last a lifetime. By combining the best of talent and coaching, atmosphere and friendships, the Starz experience is sure to benefit the development of young athletes and students.
