established in 1964 by a merger of the two schools. It teaches around 1,500 pupils from year 7 to 13 and it is the only Catholic Secondary school within the local authority and also the only secondary school with two separate sites. This allows them to provide a small and nurturing school dedicated to Years 7 and 8 which aims to ensure an easier transition form primary into secondary education. Whereas, the main site located at Ordnance Street is a specialist Year 9 to 13 upper school site. This transition came to place as of September 2010.

Sixth Form Centre

Until the summer of 2010 the St. John Fisher Sixth Form Site was located at a separate building further up the road. The Sixth Form is now located at the main St John Fisher school site making this a specialist Year 9 to 13 upper school site. This is in aim to give the senior students a chance to fulfill their roles as role models and contribute to the school culture and ethos.
