Since joining the NEC in 1985, the Terriers have compiled a 99-96-19 record in conference play. The Terriers have also participated in four NCAA tournaments, their best showing came in 1976 when they made in to the Round of Sixteen. Since joining the NEC, the Terriers have not made it to a NCAA tournament, although they have been one game away on three occasions ('95, '96 and '98).

The current head coach, Tom Giovatto, joined the Terriers in 2007 and has led the team to a 40-23-16 record. In 2009, Giovatto secured a NEC Tournament berth with the second seed, yet the Terriers did not advance past the first round. Following a disappointing 2010 season in which they did not make the playoffs, the Terriers were looking to rebound in 2011 yet failed to advance to the playoffs.
