Encyclopedia
The Sorne Hill Wind Farm is a wind farm
Wind turbine
A wind turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy. If the mechanical energy is used to produce electricity, the device may be called a wind generator or wind charger. If the mechanical energy is used to drive machinery, such as for grinding grain or...

system (to enable surplus electricity to be generated when demand is low, and improve consistency of supply to the electricity network). http://www.windenergyinvesting.com/2006/08/30/ireland-windfarm-inks-vrb-energy-storage-system-purchase-agreement/ http://www.leonardo-energy.org/drupal/node/959. It is unclear if the Flow Battery will now be installed, as VRB Power Systems, Inc. has since appointed a receiver, filed for insolvency http://www.vrbpower.com/docs/news/2008/news_20081120.pdf and had its assets bought.
