BIO.
It was almost 20 years ago that Simon Marnie clambered into a huge blue kangaroo suit as station mascot for radio station 2UW. This obscure taste of radio later propelled him into the inaugural Radio Course at the Australian Film TV and Radio School.

After graduating, Simon was offered a shift in Albany, Western Australia, so he did the honourable thing and started work experience at Triple J.

Simon was hooked into radio. After months of persistence and refusing to go quietly he won a full time position at Triple J. Since then he has also worked in community and commercial broadcasting, both behind the scenes and in front of the microphone. After eventually leaving the ABC, Simon experimented with other mediums. He conceived and produced SBS TV’s music show – nomad, produced on WOW TV and reported on ABC TV’s TVTV. These roles, along with a stint of home duties, child rearing, chefing and voice work, eventually led Simon back to a career in full-time radio with Tony Delroy’s NightLife on ABC Local Radio.

Simon loves doing the Weekend Show. He says, “Sydney weekends are about leisure, relaxing and fun and this city is one of the best in Australia. We cover as many events as possible to show the diversity of cultures, people and regions that make up the Greater Sydney Region”.
