1801–1803. He was elected as a Federalist to the Eighth and Ninth Congresses (March 4, 1803 – March 3, 1807). After Congress, he resumed the practice of law and again a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1810 and 1811. He also served as high sheriff of Rockingham County 1813–1818. He died in Salem, New Hampshire in 1822 and was buried in Old Parish Cemetery, Center Village, Salem, New Hampshire.
