Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University is a public university in Tehran

. It was founded in 1980. Its first president was Ghodratollahe Toorang and it was named after Mohammad Ali Rajaee, the president of the country in that time after he was assassinated. The university is located in a northern neighborhood of Tehran called Lavizan

Shahid Rajaee University provides both undergraduate and graduate programs in seven departments for typical students and teachers hired by the government, however the classes held for typical students are separated from teacher's classes and their degree is like any other university in the country. Teachers and students are funded by the government and are accepted into the university either by the national university entrance exam conducted by the ministry of science or winning prestigious scientific awards like Khwarizmi
