 with the youth team and made his depute with First team in 1997/98 season and spent successful 2 seasons before joining El Ahly.

Ahly

In 1999 Shady initially joined El-Ahly as a left wing back replacement for former international Mohamed Youssef. However, his limited dribbling abilities and high defensive awareness assigned him to the team's defense. Throughout the years, several Ahly coaches and trainers have used Shady as a regular starter, making him one of the most participating players in Ahly history along with Essam el Hadary. However, during a match in the 2006 African champions league round of 16, Essam was blamed for two goals scored in his net. Thus, the captain's badge was taken from Hadary and given to Shady Mohamed.Mohamed played for El-Ahly at the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship
