Early career

Sergiy Kirichenko was born on February 25, 1952 in Novoselivka, a small village in the Kharkiv Oblast

Education

In 1973 Sergiy Kirichenko graduated from Kharkiv Armour Command school.
In 1983 he graduated from command faculty of Marshal of the USSR Malinovskiy’s Armour Force Academy.
In 2000 Sergiy Kirichenko graduated from the faculty of preparation of the operational-strategic level officers’ of the National Academy of Defence of Ukraine with golden medal.

April 2002 Sergiy Kirichenko was assigned on position of Deputy of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was promoted to position of the Chief of the General Staff
