Indian company IRCON International Limited was awarded the project to build and upgrade the 98km stretch between Seremban and Gemas. The project had been divided into two phases – Seremban–Sg Gadut (11.3km) and Sg Gadut–Gemas (86.8km).

The south-bound Komuter and Electric Train Service (ETS) will be extended to the new Sg Gadut station near here on 2010 Christmas Day. The new Senawang station will also be opened on the same day.

Education

Malay is the language of instruction for most subjects while English is a compulsory subject and is used as the language of instruction for mathematics and the natural sciences. There are also schools which provide Mandarin and Tamil as languages of instruction for certain subjects.

In Senawang only, there are 5 elementary schools. There are several notable schools located in the city which have existed for more than a decade, such as, SMK Senawang (1993), SK Senawang (1994),SMK Taman Seri Pagi (1998)and SMK Seremban Jaya (2004) located in Seremban Jaya.
