In July 2005, Endeavour Shipping added Thursday Island to its weekly service between Cairns and Bamaga. This broke Sea Swift's monopoly on the shipping trade between Cairns and Thursday Island, and caused some shipping rates to drop by almost half.

Awards


Sea Swift was nominated to receive a Quarantine Certificate of Commendation in 2005, but it was ultimately won by Ergon Energy.
