History

There is very little record of the first few years of Scariff Hurling Club, but it has almost certainly always been a senior club. Not until 1907 did Scariff play in their first senior county final (which they won). They won further senior championships in 1917, 1946, 1952 and 1953 and lost the final in 1918, 1919, 1942, 1943, 1960, 1991 and 1995. Camogie is very popular in Scariff. They have teams in all ages. The camogie gersey are white and green as well.
Famous are the U-14 feile na nGael hurling team of 2010. The team boasts Ricky Bolton, Captain Martin Cunningham, Niall Minogue, Shane Corry, Liam Corry, Liam Jones, Kieran Jones, Josh Moloney, Diarmaid McNamara, Conor Hayes, Conor Moloney, Eoin O'Brien, Rory Kelly, Oran Scanlan, Cian Foley, Andrew O'Dwyer, Sean Minogue, Daniel O'Sullivan, Dan Connelly, Daniel Treacy, Darragh Treacy, Patrick Walsh, Tomas McNamara, Martin Gooney and Niall Dear. The U12 camogie team got on very well last year, reaching to the semi-final but got narrowly beaten by Inagh-Kilnamona. The girls played an excellent match and we wish them all the luck.
