Savyon is a local council in the Center District of Israel, located in between Kiryat Ono, Petah Tikva and Or Yehuda. Ranked 10/10 on the Israeli socio-economic scale, it is among the wealthiest municipalities in Israel, being both famous and infamous for it. In December 2006, Savyon had a population of 3,300.
Savyon was founded in 1955 by Africa Israel Investments for senior immigrants from South Africa. It took the name of a common flower, although the first part of its name (sav) means "grandfather", which was appropriate for the residents of the time.

In 2004, the moshav Ganei Yehuda was merged into Savyon.
