Hammel began acting at the age of nine and began her first theater company in 1998 at the age of fourteen. She directed, taught voice and choreographed. She now has six different divisions of her entertainment company all under SAMM Entertainment. She also runs a kids' summer voice and theater camp, specializing in teaching children acting and vocal lessons. She graduated from Wagner College
in May 2006 with a B.A.
in Theater Education. She is also in charge of SHAPA (Samantha Hammel Academy of Performing Arts) which began in January 2004 to provide support for aspiring children learning to act and sing.
She now also is in charge of The Performing Arts Connection in Sudbury.
