It is said to be the place where Banjo Patterson wrote "The Man from Snowy River", about a local stockman, called Charlie McKeachnie.
Patrick White also wrote several novels while jackarooing on the property, during the 1930's.
"Phar Lap" the movie, was filmed on the property, during the drought in 1982 - and Samantha's mother, Elizabeth was an extra in this movie.

Samantha attended Kincoppal-Rose Bay in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
She then did a GAP year at a school near Bath in the UK in 1995, before returning to Australia to study Broadcast Journalism at Charles Sturt University

Personal life

Samantha is a descendent of the Armytage pioneering/pastoral family in Victoria. The Armytage Family sold "Como House" in Toorak, Melbourne - to the National Trust, in 1969.

Her interests include golf, tennis, snow skiing and horse racing.

It was reported in June 2011 that Samantha broke up with her live-in builder boyfriend Sean and is currently single.
