Supplements

`Kaler Kheya (Boat of the Time)', the most popular literary magazine of this time, is one of the weekly supplements of Samakal. Prominent young poet Masud Hassan edited this supplement. The other weekly supplements are 'Nandan', `Shaili', 'Campus', 'Kurir Pore (after 20)', 'Taka Aana Pai (Economy)', 'Naristhan (Women Platform)', 'Champion' and 'Ghassfaring (page for children)'. 'Suhreed Samabesh (Platform of Welwishers)' is the reader organization of this daily. Jointly with Oxfam GB, Samakal recently published a magazine on Climate Change of Bangladesh.

Threats

From its beginning at 2005, the paper's journalists have been working despite threats and dangers. In 2005, Goutam Das, who worked as Faridpur (Bureau Chief), was murdered. In 2006, ruling party cadres attacked Samakal Rajshahi Bureau office and Shiblee Noman, the Bureau Chief was assaulted.
