Sale Creek Middle/High School is located in the heart of the community and ranges from 6th to 12th grade students. Sale Creek school athletics include: Basketball, Baseball, Wrestling, Cross Country, Softball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Football beginning in 2010 for middle school students. Also apart of Sale Creek high School is Jrotc. Jrotc is build of a battlion of cadets, split into three companys. The Jrotc helps out the school by posting colors at their basketball games, helping at the lions club and more. It has 4 teams Rifle, Raiders, Drill and Color Guard. Sale Creek's mascot is a Panther with school colors being Blue, Black, and White.
Sale Creek school has been located on its original site since 1908.

The community takes its name from the creek which runs through it, which in turn got its name from the auction at the site of the goods and arms taken from the eleven towns of the militant Cherokee
