Said the Whale toured the U.S. for the first time in Spring of 2011. They played shows along the West Coast on their way to and from Austin's SXSW Music Festival.

Said the Whale are the subject of the CBC documentary Winning America which aired on July 23, 2011, so far only in BC.

They released their EP New Brighton on November 8, 2011, in preparation for their third full-length album, set to be released in early 2012.
