Sahaswan is famous for the honesty of its inhabitants. People of Sahaswan are gentle and have a section of professional classes and it can be said that Sahaswan is an educated city of Danishwars (The Learned).

The people of Sahaswan are also known for playing Chess by Indian rules. One can still see Chess being played by youth at the Chaupal (Garden) at Choudhary Mohalla.

who is widely known as the 'don of Western UP.'.He is currently with the Bahujan Samaj Party of Mayawati. His son, Vikas Yadav was convicted of the brutal murder of Delhi business executive Nitish Katara. The murder was most likely an honour killing as the victim had a relationship with Yadav's daughter, Bharti. The lack of literacy in Sahawan may explain the recent election of D.P Yadav when the rest of India is starting to shun such individuals as elected representatives. Omkar Singh, Meer Yusuf Ali, Shama Ali and Nawab Masood Mushtaq are respected and powerful politicians in Sahaswan. However Musclemen like Nooruddin also keep on taking active interest in Sahaswan politics but discerning voters have always refused to elect such local leaders. Leaders like Saleem Sherwani though himself an honest and decent person did not have roots in Sahaswan and was not close to ground reality. He unintentionally nurtured some goons like Nooruddin. Saleem was Samajwad Party MP for four terms.

By air

The nearest airport is Delhi and you can reach the distance of 180 plus km by the national highway that joins Barielly.

By train

The nearest station is Ujhani, 30 km away from Sahawan and it is connected by meter gauge by Agra and Mathura up to Kasganj.In coming days it will revamped and will be directly connected to Delhi by broad gauge.

Sahaswan has a few industries in which some big are Medicine Industies, medicines are produced in the city.Dabbu Sunar,Bhuvnesh Maheshwari,Chandakya Filling Station, Munnalal Halwai, Haribabu, Umesh Digital Studio, Five Star Garments, Rafeeq Band are some famous marchants in sahaswan.SBI, CBI, PNB, BOB, KGB etc banks are availabe in sahaswan. Basically Sahaswan has an agro based economy.
