Station history

Sagami-Ōno Station began on April 1, 1929 as the Sagami-Ōno Signal. It was upgraded to a full station on April 1, 1938 as the , being named after the nearby Army Telecommunication School (Rikugun Tsūshin-Gakkō). It was renamed to its present name on January 1, 1941 amid the counter-intelligence
