Royler Gracie is a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist
and Brazilian jiu-jitsu
practitioner. He ran the Gracie Humaitá
jiu-jitsu school in Rio de Janeiro
, Brazil for many years under his father Helio
's direction, but currently resides in San Diego, US.
Royler travels around the world teaching seminars, but still finds time to coach some of his jiu-jitsu protégé such as Fabricio Camoes
, who trains and teaches out of the "Victory MMA" gym in San Diego, California.

Royler Gracie has competed in the black-belt ranks for 20 years. Himself along with Marcelo Garcia are the only people to win the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship
(ADCC) three consecutive years. Considered as one of the best technicians in Jiu-Jitsu, Royler was famously upset at the 2003 ADCC where he lost to Eddie Bravo
, who was a brown belt at the time, by triangle choke
. Royler is a four-time World Jiu Jitsu Champion
in the under 67 kg Black Belt Division. In 2011 Royler agreed to a rematch with Eddie Bravo which was later cancelled because of a financial disagreement which involved Royler asking for more money than has ever been paid to any fighter for a grappling match.
Royler has a professional mixed martial arts
record of five wins, five losses and one draw. His retirement fight came on September 14, 2011 at the age of 45 when he lost to Masakatsu Ueda
