He was far from the only warrior to have left Scandinavia to join the Goths. From this time there is plenty of Roman gold that has been found in Sweden. Moreover, after the Ostrogothic defeat a large number of surviving Ostrogoths were allowed to return home. Many are said to have returned to Scandinavia.
