was completed. In 1977, it was renamed after a prominent history teacher who became school principal and Assistant Superintendent of Schools and authored a history of the city of Bayonne.
In 2004/05, the school won an American Student Council Association Honor Student Council Excellence Award. As of 2009, the school principal is Maria Hoffmann. The school colors
are blue and yellow and their mascot
