Roberto Simanowski is a German scholar of literature and media studies in the USA and editor of dichtung-digital, a journal for contributions on digital aesthetics, which he founded in 1999.

Simanowski studied German literature and history at the University of Jena were he finished his PhD on mass-culture around 1800 with a grant by the German Studienstiftung
